Rules are subject to change. An announcement will be made if any major revision is made or new rules are added.
- Members are not to advertise any sites/RPGs in their character bio submissions. In your RP Experience, simply say you've been involved with other RPGs, or have been admin/mod on other RPGs, we do not need a link to them.
- Bios that have advertising will have the link removed before being accepted, and you will be asked not to do it in subsequent submissions. Repeat offenders will be punished.
- All characters must be wholly original. This means no copying characters from other shows/movies/books etc. This also includes copying other member's characters from this RPG or anywhere else on the net. This includes unusual surnames, first names, appearance and personality traits. There are no vampires, wizards or shape shifters in the Sons of Anarchy universe, therefore your characters cannot be these things. If I notice, or another members brings to my attention, a striking similarity between your character and another either original or copyrighted character, you will be asked to modify your character.
- No character is to have more than one player. No shared accounts/characters are permitted, even if someone is on vacation, no other member is allowed to RP as their character to 'keep things flowing'. Sometimes your favourite cannon charrie is taken, this is something you need to deal with. Do not organise with another member to share the use of a cannon or original character. If I find out this is happening, you will be asked to fix it.
- All cannon characters, (any characer from the show) must be auditioned for. This means filling out the Character Bio and providing an RPing sample (consider it an OPEN starter) with it.
- You may still audition for a cannon if there is a Work in Progress or completed but not yet approved audition on the Submit for Approval board. Just because someone has put up a WIP or even a completed audition does not mean they have the character yet.
- Sample writing must not god mode any played character on this board. Check the List of Cannon Characters to see who's being played. Sample writings can NPC any non played cannon.
- In the event of multiple applications for the same character, The Revelator will determine through the bio and sample RP who is best suited for the character. Please do not take these decisions personally, in the event of a drop you are always free to re-audition.
- All cannons must remain active, unless having supplied notice that they won’t be able to get online. If your cannon is inactive, with no notice up and someone auditions for your cannon... there is a very good chance you will lose them.
- If there is a cannon you want to audition for that has been taken, but the member is inactive (no posts in more than a week, and no holiday notice), you may submit your audition, explaining that the current player is inactive. The Revelator will attempt to contact the current player. If the current player is deemed truly inactive, the audition will be considered for approval.
- Original characters (ie. those not having any credit in the show) may not be related to played cannon characters unless the player of that character agrees to it.
- This rule also applies to having any kind of relationship with a cannon. You can work out histories with other members after being approved, do not assume or put information in bios without first discussing it with the player of that character.
- Unplayed cannons are considered NPC’s, and anyone wishing to be related/involved with them may submit their application to be approved either with their bio, or in the editing thread. The Revelator's decision will be final.
- If at any point an unplayed cannon that you have a relation to is taken up by a member, it will ultimately be up to the member to decide if the relationship still stands, but they will be asked to be lenient considering your character is already established. Additionally if a cannon is dropped, original character relations may stay in tact until a time when the canon is taken up again.
- Original characters may list their family members as OPEN when posting their bio. If open, this means that other members may arrange to apply for that relative. Permission must be given by the relative's owner before submitting a bio for approval. Members usually have a good idea of what their character's family members are like, and may ask you to take on certain traits or face claims if you want to pick them up.
- All characters you no longer wish to use should be dropped. In the case of a cannon, this should be done as soon as you know you won't/can't play that character any more, to give others a chance ASAP to apply for them.
- Characters, cannon or original may not be 'taken over'. The current player must fill out the drop request form, and only then can other members apply to pick the character up. You may not just hand over an account to another member for them to keep playing the character. Bios must always be original, and handing an account/character over bypasses this fact and is not allowed. In the event of wanting to take on a original character by another member, permission must be sought out and will be double checked by me.
- Original Motorcycle Clubs are permitted, but are subject to approval. The member will need at least three characters willing to be involved with the club in order for it to be considered. A president and vice president is absolutely necessary. If accepted, they will be given their own user colour. Members may submit characters for approval to be affiliated with the original club after the club’s approval. At that time The Revelator will contact the president to get their okay on the character.
- There is a lot of responsibility for a president, and the role should not be taken on lightly.
- Members are encouraged to use a celebrity/model as a face claim to their character. This is not a rule however, and you may choose to use personal art or nothing at all. It is always nice to have a real live face to put to the character however. All actors who have a credit in The Sons of Anarchy are reserved to be used with their cannon character. After approval of your character, please submit your information to the Face Claim. First come, first serve with celebrities, if the celebrity is taken and the character is still active, you will be asked to pick another celeb. If the face claim is ever dropped and you are still desperate for that celebrity, you may resubmit at that time.
