"Coke."
At that moment Seth was kind of lost in his thoughts, with the way that his week was going this was a welcome distraction to things and he was glad of it but he still couldn't shake the fact that in the back of his mind he was concerned. Of course he had been told to just let Clay handle it and he was willing to do that for now but it didn't change the fact Jess was missing, he hadn't heard from her no matter how often he had called and neither had their mother. He was beginnin to get worried that this was going to be one of those moments in his life where he was going to regret the things that he had done, for instance what if he hadn't run that biker off and sent him packing with what he had said.
If he had left well enough alone than it would have made it hard for the Mayan to take down the garage and it would have made it a hell of a lot easier to know where his sister was and what she was doing if anything. In that moment he was swimming ina sea of regret and remorse and he was mentally kicking his own ass for a behavior that had started so long ago he couldn't even begin to remember when there was a time he hadn't been that way. No what he needed was someone to talk to but there was no way he was having his head shrunken by a shrink either. Maybe a nice hard swift kick to the balls would be a better alternative to it than seeing someone.
Shaking his head and pulling himself out of his thoughts Seth looked back at Liz before he smiled at her.

Liz wrote down that Seth wanted and coke and smiled at him. "Comin' right up, officer." She said, her smooth accent coming out as she spoke before she walked away. She didn't know how he felt about it but, if it did to him like it did most men, he was enjoying it. And of course, she added a little extra sway to her hips, catching the other men in the Diner's eyes. But only the one that didn't want an ass-whoopin' kept their eyes on their food. Anyway, giving her order to the cook, she was leaning against the counter, biting her lower lip mentally talking to herself.
'Don't look over your shoulder. Don't look. Don't look.. Oh shoot..' Liz was talking to herself, and then just gave in and looked over her shoulder with her dark soulful eyes. She couldn't help herself. Seth just made her feel... it's hard to describe. "Liz.. Lizzi... ELIZABETH!" The cook exclaimed, making her jump and look back at him. Max had a smirk on his lips at her, shaking his head. "Girl, you're just begging for some trouble, huh?" He asked, making her confused. He sighed. "I know what you do when you're not here and it's illegal." He told her in a low voice. He was actually the first person that knew that she was a underground boxer and she trusted him because he was like a brother to her. "I can't help it, Max. You know I'm a weaklin' when it comes to bluish green eyes." Liz explained, to cover herself. "Especially when those eyes belong to a cop. But, I have to admit.. The man in fine!" He said, about to hump the counter when he said the last word making her laugh.
Leaving her friend to cook, she went and got Seth his coke to drink. At least have him cool down before the food comes and Max was also from the South like her. Meaning, he knew how to season food the good ol' Southern way! Going over the Seth's booth, she lightly sat the glass down. "Food should be done in a bit."

She had startled Seth a bit when she came back to the table but only because his thoughts had been lingering on how he was going to tell his mother about the recent events, so far he had managed to avoid the woman and had done a damn good job of dodging her phone calls so that he didn’t have to tell her. After all deep down he couldn’t lie to her no matter how much he would have liked too and how much easier it would have been on him to have done so in the first place.
“That’s good the longer I’ve sat here I’ve actually thought about confiscating people’s food and eating it just because,” he teased before he gave her a wink to show that he was in fact only joking about that, he wasn’t that impatient. Though the more he set there the more the idea of food seemed to appeal to him and the more he liked the idea of grabbing something to eat. Leaning back at he took a drink he looked the waitress over.
Yeah Seth was still trying to figure this out, normally he wouldn’t have given her a second look at all and normally he would have just brushed her off and yet there hw was sitting there actually looking forward to talking to her when she wasn’t one of the normal bimbo’s that he hit on. He used the term in the correct way too, he knew what the women he dated and spent his time with save for a few and that’s why he enjoyed it because they were in fact all the same. Easy to play with, easy to toy with, and easy to walk away from when he wanted to find something new to set his taste. It was amazing when one stopped to think about it that he had been married a total of three times and women still continued to think marriage and Seth Desmond were a good combination.
“Place seems like it get’s a pretty good crowd in here.”

Liz could tell that she startled him when she came up and bit her lower lip to keep from laughing. She didn't want to bruise his ego, because she was prone to doing so. So, she just made it seem like she didn't notice. “That’s good the longer I’ve sat here I’ve actually thought about confiscating people’s food and eating it just because,” And hearing that, she let that laugh out before it killed her on the inside. Brushing away a strand of hair that was about to get in her eyes, she calmed down. "Well, I know that you would be hungry but, the other customers wouldn't be too happy about that. And I have to work here so, if that happened, don't look at me to save ya." She said back, with a playful face. "But, relax. Max will have everything done in a jif. We'll get some food in ya yet." Liz told him, winking at him before walking away from the table.
“Place seems like it get’s a pretty good crowd in here.” Turning around and walking backwards, she looked back at him. "It's always a good crowd! But, after you tell your friends at the station, it will be a great crowd!" Liz said, only to jump when she hit the counter and the bell there. A college guy and his girl laughed at her seeing that and whispered among themselves. Rolling her eyes, she turned around and saw the Seth's food was done. And she noticed the milkshake that the couple ordered was there too and since Molly was in the restroom, she decided to have a little fun.
Taking Seth's food and shake, she took the long way over by the couple. And acting like she was going to put it on the table, she tipped it over having it spill all over the two of them. The girl screamed at her as the guy groaned. Liz just smiled. "Oops, silly me." She said, continuing her way to Seth and putting his food in front of him. "Hope you enjoyed the show." She told him, sitting across from him, clueless that the couple was going to wait until after she got off work to get payback.

He had to laugh at what she'd done, now not the kind of thing he would have done but at the same time you know. As he started to eat Seth looked across thje table before he looked abck down at his food, his mind was still in a million different places and it was swimming back and forth in a way that he couldn't even begin to understand if he wanted too. He had never been put in the positions that he had to have his emotions put through the ringer before things started to make sense to him and he started to realize he was kind of the jack ass that people made him out to be. Mumbling under his breath he furroed his brow before he sat the food down and then looked over lifting an eyebrow.
"You ever done something stupid, knew it was stupid when you did it, and then had that moment where you realized that you might actually never be able to fix it?"
It was a retorical question all in it's own because most people had moments like that, and in Seth Desmond's case chances were he was going to have a lot more to go along with this moment though he wasn't sure if it would be with the same person or not. Checking his cell phone he gave a slight frown at the device before he sighed and then shifted his weight in the booth. Nope this wasn't something that he liked in the least bit, why because he didn't like the idea that he didn't have answers, he didn't like not having control of the situation or being able to convince himself that he had control over it either. It was out of his hands and he had been sent home and told to put the hell out of what was going on.
Made him wonder why he did the stupid things that he did but at the same time he also realized that it was going to take a hell of a lot more than that to make him change his ways and stop what he was doing.

Liz took her ebony hair down from the ponytail and let it loose. Fluffing it to loosen it up a bit too. Watching him eat, she could tell that he thought it was funny when she poured the shake all over the couple, mostly because he laughed. But, she could tell that he was fighting with himself inside and wanted to ask what was wrong, even though it looked like he was about to explode and tell her anyway. And she was right. "You ever done something stupid, knew it was stupid when you did it, and then had that moment where you realized that you might actually never be able to fix it?" Biting her lower lip, which was making it start to hurt since she's been doing a few times today, she was thinking before answering. "Well, everyone has those moments. Hell, I've had them but, it wasn't stupid." She said, thinking about when her Father killed her Mother. She knew that she had nothing to do with it but, still she wasn't able to fix it.
Without even realizing it, she felt a tear fell down her cheek and quickly wiped it away, clearing her throat. "Why do you ask? Have you ever done anything like that, if you don't mind me asking." Liz asked back, as she kicked herself for letting him see her cry. She hated to cry because she didn't want to feel weak or be seen as weak.

"No no this was just stupid, I meddled in my sister life because I'm the older brother and pestering her to the point she tears her hair out seems to be the thing to do most of the time," Seth began as he tore off a bit of his sandwich and started to chew before he swallowed and then finished. "She owns a garage out in the Hills and a few nights ago someone burnt it to the ground and no ojne can find her." He didn't think he needed to add in the part where he was a dick head and he felt bad that he couldn't apologize about it now because he didn't know what happened. "She hasnt' answered her cell phone which isn't unusual when she's mad at me but she hasn't called her best friend either."
Why was he telling her all of this? He went back to the fact he needed a friend and needed someone to talk too about what was going on and his options where at the moment kind of limited at best if he had to guess. It wasn't as if he could call Kate and talk to her about it, she couldn't see him fall apart and he had been run off from the Hills by Clay Morrow and Jax Teller before he even got the chance to get started looking into things.
"Needless to say I've been avoiding my mother because I don't want to say anything to her until I know what's going on and news is coming in slowly so I just feel kind of," he stopped before he furrowed his brow and then laughed. "I don'tk now how I feel right now or how I feel about what's going on in the least bit. This was out of his comfort zone and he didn't like it in the least bit. More importantly he felt like the back end of a horse because of what he had managed to do. "That's why I ask."

Liz listened to what Seth was saying and was speechless. Well, almost. But, she just didn't know what to say to him. He just opened up to her. Completely. He either just needed a friend or just wanted to get something off of his chest and didn't know who to go to. Then, when he got to the point where he was avoiding his mother, she knew that she needed to say something about that. If he was avoiding his father, she would be fine but, since she was close to her Mother, it hit a soft spot.
"Well, I know for one, you shouldn't avoid your Mother. I know I'm just a person lookin' in from the outside so, I won't go in too deep into the stuff with your sister." Liz said, feeling like a shrink for some reason. "And even if you don't know what's goin' on, just call up your Mom and say hi. Visit her, anythin'. You just never know when she's not goin' to be there anymore." She told him, with a soft yet sad smile. Talking about her Mom would always bring up memories and make her choke up in a way. But, she was trying to help him. And despite her being a fighter, she had a gentle and friendly side.

“See the problem with that is that my mother is a mind reader, she knows what I’m thinking. She knows when I’m not telling her something and most of all she knows when I’ve done something. In essences my Mother is Santa Claus on polyester pant suit and playing Poker on Monday nights with her knitting circle.” Seth joked, the sadness in her face hadn’t escaped him but he felt better now that he had blurted things out and gotten them off his chest and that said something. Well alright it said nothing really and spoke volumes for the fact he had no real idea what it was that he was doing at that moment and time.
Thinking for a moment he thought about it before he took another bite of the food in front of him and then lifted an eyebrow. He was about to do something that went against every rule in the book of Seth Desmond and he was about to do something that was unthinkable. Ask someone out on a date and be completely serious about it with no intention of ending up in bed with them, although if it ended up there he wasn’t going to stop it because well it wasn’t in his nature to do that.
“You know I cut you a break on a ticket, you fed me lunch. I poured my heart out you listened, so how about I take you to dinner tonight?” He asked as he looked up, and he was kind of hoping that she said yes. It was that little tug he hadn’t really felt before and the one that wasn’t in his pants, he wanted to get to know Liz a little better and that said something considering the cop normally only liked hearing himself talk. “So what do you say dinner on me anywhere you want to go.”

"Aren't they all?" Liz asked, referring to what Seth said about his Mother being a mind reader. So was hers and she always knew when something was wrong. Then when he said that she was Santa, she had to laugh a bit. Putting her hand over her mouth, she laughed until she calmed down. It cheered her up since she figured she looked a bit sad, from what she was thinking about before. But, that was mostly her fault because she always lets her memories get the better of her, especially her emotions.
When she calmed down, Liz ran her fingers through her hair with the smile still on her full lips. Her dark eyes were sparkling with happiness. It felt nice to laugh and speak with someone that wasn't Max. But, what Seth said next surprised her. “You know I cut you a break on a ticket, you fed me lunch. I poured my heart out you listened, so how about I take you to dinner tonight?” "Really?" She asked, not used to being asked out. I mean, she's been out on a couple dates but nothing actually sparked between her and the other person. “So what do you say dinner on me anywhere you want to go.”
Biting her lower lip again, she smiled as she nodded. "I'd like that, Seth." Liz told him, only to hear Max shout out yes from way back in the kitchen. He must have been reading their lips to get what they were saying.

Hearing the shouting from the back Seth had to lift an eyebrow before he shook his head and then chuckled. "See it's nice to know I wasn't the only one pulling for us to go out to dinner tonight," he offered as he gave a grin in Liz's direction.
It still didn't mean he had any intentions of talking to his mother about anything at all just yet but it did mean that he planned to talk to her at some point as soon as he had something to go on. He'd learned that much from what he did in his life and from his line of work, you didn't jump to a conclusion and then find out later you had jumped the ship into the shark tank.
Leaning back in the seat he checked his cruiser once before he winked at Liz. "And no I won't be driving that so you can't play with the sirens."

When Seth mentioned Max, Liz just laughed shaking her head. "Yeah, Max says I need to get out more so, he always gets excited when I meet a guy." She said, looking over at the kitchen to see him there grinning like a idiot and she glared at him. He just acted like he was going to throw the specula in her direction but, just walked away. Rolling her dark brown eyes, she focused back on Seth. He was grinning at her too and she couldn't help but smile back.
Then, watching him check his cruiser, her mind went straight to the gutter as her eyes went lower and lower.. and lower. When he moved again, she put her eyes back on the upper part of him. She didn't want to seem like a sex depraved woman and he just asked her out. "And no I won't be driving that so you can't play with the sirens." "Oh man, come on. You're takin' the fun outta life." Liz said, pouting slightly and fought the urge to swoon when he winked at her. "Um.. My shift doesn't end until six so, unless you feel like waiting six hours, you're welcome to stay. But, if you have to return to work, that's okay too."

"As much as I would love to sit here and watch your friend at the grill make faces you I should probably get back to work but I'll pick you up when I get off if that works for you," he offered as he finished the last of his sandwich groaning as he heard his radio start to go off, though from the sound of it this was going to be nothing more than one of those calls where you broke up a fight, sent people on their seperate ways, and then went about your business. Muttering to himself as he groaned Seth looked over at Liz before he smirked at her.
"If you stand me up I'm going to write you a ticket for speeding though so you might as well be ready for that," he joked before he pushed himself up from the table, pulling his wallet out he dropped a few bills down before he reached for his sunglasses. Turning he went out to the parking lot and open the door to the cruiser before he dropped down listening to make sure that of what was going on.

"As much as I would love to sit here and watch your friend at the grill make faces you I should probably get back to work but I'll pick you up when I get off if that works for you," Biting her lower lip, Liz laughed a bit as she nodded. "Okay. I'll be waitin'." She said, unknowingly sounding flirty. But, of course the mood was broken when she heard Seth's radio from his cruiser go off. When she heard it, she was cursing all radios and that they should all be destroyed. "If you stand me up I'm going to write you a ticket for speeding though so you might as well be ready for that,"
Seeing that smirk as he got up, she got up as well. Liz just smirked back at him. "A woman would be blind to stand you up, officer." She told him, before he went out the door and to his cruiser. Cleaning off the booth, she pocketed the money and took the plates into the back. Just to begin her shift, and usually she's bored. Now, she's happy and is smiling because she hasn't someplace to go besides her house after work. Which reminds her to get with Max before she gets off to borrow some perfume. It pays to have a gay friend.
Quite Few Hours later[/u]
It was after six and Liz had freshened herself up with some perfume. It was Love Rocks from Victoria's Secret, courtesy of Max. She wet her hair and fluffed it to dry it and it looked wild and sexy. After she freshened up her red lip gloss, she went outside the diner and waited by her car. She was excited, so excited that she didn't notice that couple was coming up behind her. Hearing a male voice, she turned around and was greeted with a punch in the jaw. It sent her to the ground and she was getting kicked in the stomach. Okay, well everywhere. The wind was knocked out of her so, she couldn't scream.

After his shift had ended at 4, Seth had gone home and showered, changed his clothes and then made sure that nothing had been disturbed at the house and he had no messages from his sister. there were none which worried him far more than he liked to let on and thoughts of what might have happened has started to run through his mind though he tried to keep them at bay but the thoughts of the evening he had planned.
Pulling back into the diner he picked a parking spot and settled back into the seat unaware of what was going on outside the car, as well anyone that knew him know that Seth could be pretty obilvious when his mind was lost in matters of women and sex or even the possiblity of sex.
Looking down at the clock and muttering to himself Seth started to switch through the radio stations trying to find something that he could listen to while he waited for Liz to come out.
